Sensational Spring
It has been fantastic to welcome the children back after Christmas. They have made a fantastic start to 2026 demonstrating fantastic behaviours inside and outside of the classroom.
This week the children have been working collaboratively to try establish how the features of suspense writing link to the Content, Audience and Purpose.
Marvellous Maths
Today year 5 have been estimating and measuring capacity. They did a brilliant job working in groups and then solving problems with it.
Bikeability WC 2.2.26
Year 5 braved all weathers this week to take part in Bikeability. They began on the school playground learning how to dress safely, safely stop and make signals. We then went onto the roads to practice some manoeuvres following the Highway Code. The children listened really well and were amazing at taking the feedback to adjust their biking techniques. Well done year 5!
Bikeability WC 9.2.26
This week, the year 6's also braved the very wet and cold conditions, to take part in learning to ride safely on the roads. The children were very good at persevering in the cold conditions and we are very proud that all who went out achieved their level 2. Well done year 6!
WC 9.2.2026
In Geography this week, we looked at what the UK is doing to curb the issues of climate change. The children worked together and looked at the data, information and clues given to them regarding five different areas: onshore energy, offshore energy, importing energy, solar energy and converting from coal to gas. The children then decided - using that information - where to place new sites for these initiatives and then justified their reasons why they placed them where they did.
